J.S. Bach: BWV 10, "Meine Seel erhebt den Herren"

  • Bach Virtual Vespers at Holy Trinity (map)

Bach Vespers at Holy Trinity in New York City continues its 53rd season in a new virtual medium. A recording of this performance will be made available at Holy Trinity’s website, YouTube channel, and Facebook page.

Written for the Feast of the Visitation (Fest Mariä Heimsuchung), this work uses the famous Tonus peregrinus chant for the opening chorus, the alto/tenor duet, and the closing chorale. The opening motet is Brahms' O Heiland, reiß die Himmel auf. Vocal soloists for the cantata are Nola Richardson, Kate Maroney, Brian Giebler, and Enrico Lagasca, and the offertory will feature violinist Tatiana Daubek in two movements from Bach's Solo Partita No. 2 in D minor.

We’ll share the streaming link in advance of December 6th, so please be sure to share it with friends and family.
